Grants and Contracts Financial Administrator

The Vera House Grants and Contracts Financial Administrator serves as liaison between Vera House and funded programs, to ensure proper administration and compliance with terms and conditions of awards. This position provides guidance on grant accounting and operations and reviews program activity for compliance with policies and procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the agency grants and contract lifecycle, from application to closeout, ensuring compliance with terms, conditions and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain systems and processes for tracking grant applications, deadlines and reporting obligations.
  • Pursue funding opportunities, ensuring alignment with grant and contract requirements, program goals, and strategic objectives.
  • Develop, write, review, and submit grant and contract proposals.
  • Review and monitor program budgets for completeness and ensure that payments are in-line with contract requirements.
  • Coordinate and review incoming invoices related to program/project activities, ensuring satisfactory delivery of services and obtaining proper approvals of payments.
  • Perform financial reviews to ensure grant compliance.
  • Coordinate fiscal monitoring required by funders.
  • Manage and monitor purchase orders and deliverables including follow-up with program staff to review outstanding deliverables, follow-up to receive financial and/or technical reports.
  • Coordinate to ensures payment requests are processed adequately and in a timely manner:
  • Maintain accurate payment milestone information to allow for adequate financial forecasting of expenditures.
  • Collaborate with the CFO on program/project closures and reviews completed activities to confirm that all deliverables have been received and all transactions have been recorded.
  • Coordinate the procurement process for all program-related purchasing activities.
  • Attend and participate in staff and department meetings.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a relative business field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 -5 years minimum work experience in non-profit administration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management.
  • Strong background in grant writing and management.

 

Skills & Requirements:

 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of grant and contract administration and related federal policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to develop persuasive grant proposals and reports.
  • Strong understanding of grant-making processes, funding sources, and compliance requirements in the nonprofit sector.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, creative/analytic thinking skills, and organization skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Ability to independently handle varied work assignments and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills and customer service oriented.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, evaluate progress, and adjust activities to complete assignments within established time frames.

Salary Range

$55,000 - $60,000 annually (exempt)
