Material Donations 

We appreciate the generous donations from members of the community that help us to make our emergency shelters comfortable living spaces for individuals and families in crisis and transition. In order to best meet the needs of our shelter residents and accommodate our storage and transport limitations, we ask that donated items be NEW condition. 

Donations can be dropped off at our Administrative Offices, 723 James St., Syracuse, NY 13203 Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

My company or community group would like to do something for Vera House. What do you suggest?  

One way you can help support Vera House is with a donation drive. View our wish list for suggestions on items you can collect/donate to support Vera House.

Do you accept gently used items?  

Vera House no longer accepts used clothing or furniture items.

Vera House partners with the Rescue Mission, who provides vouchers for clothing and household items for the individuals and families being served by Vera House. We are thrilled to work with the Rescue Mission to streamline our donation process and best serve the needs of the community. Please consider donating your used clothing and furniture items to the Rescue Mission to help support this wonderful collaboration. Do you accept donations for the holidays?  

Yes! Each year during the holiday season Vera House asks for assistance from the community to help our clients have a happy holiday. We ask for donations of new, unwrapped gifts for our shelter residents, advocacy and outreach clients. If you are interested in supporting Vera House during the holidays, please contact our Director of Development, Carrie Veley HERE.
