A STATEMENT FROM THE FOUNDATION REGARDING AN UPDATE ON THE 2022 GALA 

The Vera House Foundation supports the sustainability of Vera House services, by ensuring the long-term financial health of the organization. The Central New York Community has historically joined us to honor the individuals Vera House serves at our annual “New Beginnings” gala which this year was scheduled for December 3rd.

In light of recent news, we are cancelling this year’s gala because now is not a time to celebrate.

It is a time for reflection, for sensitivity to clients, for humility and for humanity.

It is the time to support the leadership, staff and services, at Vera House.

It is a time to regain trust.

As Trustees of the Foundation we invite the community to join us as we dedicate our every effort to Vera House’s mission to prevent, respond and partner to end domestic and sexual violence and other forms of abuse.

We are incredibly grateful for every sponsor, supporter, donor and friend of the Foundation and Vera House. We thank the dedicated volunteers who committed hours of planning and preparing for this year’s Gala.
